Barco Reale di Carmignano - D.O.C. The youthful version of the D.O.C.G., Barco Reale is made with the same grapes (Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon) together with a small amount of Canaiolo. It takes its name from the Medici property at nearby Artimino whose boundaries were defined by the ‘wall of the Barco Reale' ('Regal Reserve') which ran for more than 30 Roman miles.

Villa di Capezzana di Carmignano - D.O.C.G. The Villa di Capezzana perfectly embodies the Carmignano land. It is viewed as the estate’s historic wine - the family has bottles dating back to the 1925 vintage. The blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for over a year in tonneaux and around another 12 months in bottle.

UCB Ugo Contini Bonacossi - I.G.T. Esposizione perfetta. L’uva viene raccolta a mano.

Trefiano Riserva Carmignano - D.O.C.G. The sixteenth century Villa di Trefiano, built for the noble Florentine family the Rucellai by the famous architect Buontalenti, is an impressive example of Renaissance architecture. A select few hectares of land surrounding the villa benefit from ideal characteristics and exposure, allowing for the creation of a particularly elegant and velvety Carmignano. The Trefiano D.O.C.G. is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Canaiolo. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 16 months and for a further year in bottle.

Trebbiano - I.G.T. A new and pioneering addition, the Trebbiano I.G.T. was produced for the first time in the year 2000 with the aim of reintroducing this variety into modern winemaking. A quality wine is obtained through exacting methods such as a selection massale, short pruning, a strict vendemmia verde and a late harvest. Aged in tonneaux, the wine acquires elegant secondary aromas and a structure suitable for ageing.

Chardonnay Bright lemon-yellow in colour with hints of green, the Chardonnay has delicate notes of sweet fruit and white and yellow flowers. It is full bodied and rounded on the palate with fine balance and a long finish. It was first created upon the request of Ugo Contini Bonacossi in 1984 and is made exclusively with Chardonnay grapes from vines that are over 30 years old. It is aged in stainless steel in order to maintain the purity of the aromas.

Vin Ruspo - D.O.C. Rosato di Carmignano D.O.C. has its origins in the ancient tradition of sharecropping. Farmers were known to siphon off or “ruspare” a quantity of the landowner’s pooled grape must for their own consumption. As the must would be taken in the early stages of fermentation, it was only lightly coloured. Today it is still the brief contact with the skins that gives this wine its beautiful pink colour. Our Vin Ruspo, made with Sangiovese, Cabernet and Canaiolo, is both vibrant and elegant.

Vin Santo This Carmignano D.O.C. is a superb dessert and ‘meditation’ wine. It is made from a careful selection of grapes, mainly Trebbiano, from among the most mature vines in Albo del Carmignano. The grapes are dried for several months on reed mats in accordance with the traditional method. The yield is very low, about ¼ of the original weight of the grapes. The must is fermented and aged for more than five years in wooden casks made of chestnut, oak, cherry and mulberry. The wine has won many international awards across different vintages, among these the 'Vin Santo Trophy' and the 'Italian Sweet Trophy' awards at the International Wine Challenge.
